A Lonely Grey Couch

- August 16 -

I infinitely prefer
the only probably cockroach-free floor of your crowded bedroom
over the tight sheets and tense cleanness of a house prepared resignedly for the guests of children.

We are finally finding us, we,
and small and weak though we are, we are Glorious to see.

Finding such light within all those places, the places with ripped carpets and awkwardly small kitchens and sticky tables and lack of guest rooms that we were told to fear, to at least apologize for or (if we could) obliterate.

but in this ending moment we have found a bit more of (selfishly and wondrously) our own hearts,
and we are jealous of no one.
